Cheers everyone for playing Getting Bugger, we really appreciate the feedback especially the longer form critiques as that gives us a place to improve and learn. Although I cant lie the positive feedback always feels great too!!
@rodney-fan Thank you for the thorough feedback, in terms of the bugs we have noticed on other systems issues like stuttering and not playing the initial animation for the main menu are popping up and are looking at very small potential fixes to these bugs at the moment. Also the floor issue is on me as right before the deadline is saw an issue with the floors and went in and fully remade them and implemented them without much testing or feedback and looking back it is very hard to see. + ↓
@leo-leo On the topic of the input buffer we had talked a lot between us about implementing this but after about 5 hours of struggling during the jam decided we should get back to other things, although I would like to add this, in the spirit of the game jam I don't want to change something too fundamental after the deadline. We also heard that the first room was too long and did shorten it but I think we were stuck between it being too easy or too boring and wanted to find a middle ground but it does feel like we missed slightly and made it all feel too tedious in that first room.
@frogcula I'm glad you like the implementation of the theme and as I am working on a 2 person release for a bullet heaven game at the moment it seemed fitting when the idea of snake but bullet heaven came up. I do think the grid based movement feels limiting too as there would be much more possibility without it, however we really tried to stick to the idea of almost "Snake+" and the grid based movement felt like it had to stay to create that feeling.
@mdsalomon We really appreciate the feedback, and the concise feedback makes it very easy to know how you felt and what we can do to improve. We know the game has flaws but appreciate that you stuck through and experienced the game and seemingly enjoyed it too so thank you !
@sharky3188 Our best guess is that you might have different screen bounds which may have misaligned the placement of the button on the screen without showing it, I'm currently making a fix to this as people seem to agree a game breaking bug is okay to fix after the time as long as you mention that you did. I will send a message when I have and you can feel free to come back and give the game a try, or not if you think this is out of the bounds of the jam which is completely fair too, either way thank you for bringing up this issue so we can hopefully fix it for others!
