LD42 — Running out of space

@earnso we decided to focus only in a build for Windows, becasue the timeframe for this challenge was really tight, but since we have now a little bit more, we are going to upload a WebGL release and add it to the Project description very soon.

@xerozylir I'm pretty sure we didn't forgot to make an executable, if you download the file from the provided url, and decompress it (because is a zip archive) you can find the 'SpaceEscape_LD42_0.5.exe' file inside, which is in fact, the executable. I hope I have been helpful. Regards.

@plukers Without being too specific, the 'Main (intrinsict) goal' of the game is to get as many points as you can without losing all the energy from your spaceship, in order to accomplish that you get points and energy for every 'energy crystal' picked, if you fill your energy bar to 100% you open a portal to another planet. Every new planet gives you a points multiplier bigger than the previuos one, so it's correct to think to get to the new planet as soon as possible.

Everytime you picked and energy crystal, new energy crystals are spawned, also, 'bad crystal' (that depletes your energy bar) are spawned too, in order to balance the gameplay and make the game fit in the Challenge theme (Running out of space), also the planet shrinks itself a little bit every second.

About the repetitie gameplay, well, since is a short period of time for Game design, Development, Asset creation, Deployment, Community management and so on, we didn't had time to implement all the Game mechanics that we want, probably if the game has great reception from the community, we could keep adding interesting features to this game in the future.

I hope i have been helpful. Best Regards and thank you for playing our game, and we are really glad that you liked it! :)

@plukers not harsh at all, every comment or suggestion is really appreciated because it means that people are interested on our game, and your comment was really positive. At first we thought in implementing as many hand crafted planet as possible, but the time that we would spend on assets creation would be innecesary long, we tough also, on procedural planets, but we had to play test the game a while too, and since we are only two devs, we couldn't. Thats why we decided to make 3 planets, each one with different characteristics, to make the game enjoyable, and we balanced things in order to make planet number 3 (The ice planet) really interesting as a final challenge.

So again, thank you very much for your feedback, and we hope we could continue the development of this project. And if you play it again, feel free to post your high score, maybe after this tips you could be the next Planet Escape champion
