Alright, so I have no clue what is actually the answer. Heres what I'm thinking, however it might just be speculation: Mary #2 is the shapeshifter.
-Mary #2 Refuses to answer the fetish question on her own. When #1 answers first, #2 says that #1 heard it from her because #2 didn't know that #1 was a shapeshifter. This makes no sense since if Mary #2 was real, then she would know that #1 wasn't real. Mary #2 uses a flimsy excuse to try to shift the suspicion on Mary #1 and never gives a proper answer.
