LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

I've Bean Stalking You by Artylo 2015-12-14T19:39:00

Great graphics and sound, really makes for a good mood :) As for the gameplay I'm not quite as convinced, as the controls are the only challenge I faced (got to level 7 where I couldn't slay an unreachable enemy).

I'm really digging the audio, wish I could do that! Could benefit a great deal from showing which color is destroyed by which button, was stuck for a couple minutes in level two because when you fail just once when the rocket comes in you die :(
If you don't want to show which button does what, I think it would be nice to give the player more time to learn them. The yellow building completely threw me of as well, since I thought it was the same as blue but for the other button. I can see where this is going once you know the controls in and out, and is probably a lot of fun once you get there, but you need to give the player a chance to get there ;) Looking forward to the post-compo version!

I like the fact that your game actually makes me afraid sometimes. Standing on a lone tile, ghosts closing in - will the next shot kill me? Will a new path grow in time? I got really engaged after figuring out everything about the controls.

I like the whole idea behind it, but especially in the beginning it's very slow (meaning there is very little to do). Maybe achievements could fix that as small, intermediate goals? Could also get rid of the "no goal"-issue. Or just speed it up :)

Thanks for playing :) I didn't think it was possible to capture BOTH towers, I played that level dozens of times and always barely made it when avoiding one tower and attacking the other one. I would love to hear how you did it!
When in doubt, you can continue by moving to the right of the screen (so "anywhere past the swamp" should work as well, code-wise it's being in the highest 10% of x Coordinates). Sorry that wasn't clear.
