I think you should learn something before say such thing... I had a good time making this SMS game anyways.
I don't know anything about the master system or msx compat mode, but I do know this game is awesome! Great job!
It uses the background color for detecting collisions, hence why it looks so bad. Despite this, it is still surprisingly fun before it eventually becomes boring after a few levels.
