I really enjoyed playing this game for Ludum Dare! The idea of saving a cat is awesome and quite engaging.
The first level is pretty easy, but the following ones get more challenging, which keeps the game interesting. I also want to highlight the cool graphics – they definitely add to the overall experience.
Great job!
That was pretty interesting. First level introduced me to the concept. It's a very small map, not much verticality and after going back and forth a few times I realized the kitty was hiding behind a bush. Great! Then, I thought: "Ah, this is a hide-and-seek sort of game"
Then I was dropped into the second level. The matrix city. I went back and forth a few times, just like before, but this time I couldn't spot any kitty. Then I realized I was getting caught by some invisible walls. It was at this time I realized: verticality. It was time to jump.
But I couldn't know what was or wasn't a platform I could stand on. It was inconsistent, after trial and error I managed to step on beehives and get to our kitty friend on top of the building.
After that debacle I was wondering just what our third level had in store. But it didn't seem to have any verticality like our second level. It was narrow, and low. I had to mash the keys. That's how I found the cave kitty.
In short, the design is a little lacking, but the game is cute enough, I liked it.
