Amazing atmosphere!
The textures and models looked great, I liked the art style a lot. The animations felt really smooth and even though there was only one attack it felt like it had some weight behind it.
I couldn't really figure out the point of the distract ability because it seemed like the guards always noticed me before I could get up close. Also I was an unstoppable juggernaut by simply attacking and moving backwards.
Once I figured out the old reliable attack-walk-back I speedran that shit like it was Streets 1:12.
In all seriousness it was a pretty cool game. Would have been nice to get some more abilities and some variety in the ways that the enemies attack you (Maybe crossbowmen? Siege Weaponry?). It would have been cool to have alternate paths to sneak up on guards from different angles. I think in the first level there's a taste of that when you have to sneak under a short walkway to gain access to a different area but everything else after that seemed pretty linear.
Cool game, love the graphics style. Ambitious to make a 3d stealth game in this short of a time.
The sneaking was hard though, it was often easier to just kill the guards in a fight. Also a insta-kill backstab would have been nice for rewarding a successful sneak attack. The game also didn't give me the mouse cursor back in the main menu after I finished it so I had to close it from the task manager. Also, for some reason it played on my second monitor and I could not change it :D
GOTY LFG
@seanjordan Thanks for playing! I definitely wanted to have more time dedicated to designing levels and playtesting, but I think a lot of the mechanics took longer to implement than expected.
@anatintti Thank you! yeah the game definitely needed more tutorialization & some refinement of the stealth gameplay
