Congrats on completing your first ludum dare game! Cute main character, adding the hover to escape pits and being able to dig horizontally were nice touches.
If you're looking for next steps for this game, a more concrete goal would be nice, and the controls would be improved if the hover button could be held without continuously switching on-off

Thanks for the feedback and congratulations @theblondebass ~! I'm the sprite artist for the game; I'm glad you thought Penny was cute, according to people I talk to, I apparently did really well on her design, usually something I struggle with a bit longer than most things.
There was actually a bunch of cut content, assets were made but programming them in took a bit longer than expected; me and @froztshock are brand new to this as a whole--maybe not so much making assets for a game or sprite art on my end, but putting it all together. It was a learning experience for us both. There was a goal we had with a recycler, but we didn't get it in before we had to submit. Neither of us have really played around with implementing sound effects of music either, so that's why the game is silent.
Honestly, while I can churn out assets, the one who brings them to life is my partner for this; programming is a whole different beast to putting up a bunch of pixels on a screen, so while I can fire off assets left and right, the speed of implementing them can be much slower depending on what we wanted to add. For example, I made assets for a bunch of things that went on the overworld before even digging, but we hadn't really gotten the code down of properly non-diggable assets.
Penny is too cute to be one-and-done though~! She might go through a design change in the future; we went with 32x32 sprites for convenience, but I initially wanted to make Penny's sprite bigger and more detailed. Not that I mind what we managed, chibi Penny is adorable~!
Anyways, apologies for the rant; thanks for the feedback~!

I liked Penelope and the art in general, the code works but maybe it could be better (it seems a little slow). The problem is the mechanics that get repetitive and tedious very fast, you don't have a right goal, just dig and collect scrap to increase the score. Of course, it has a maximum delivery time and things don't always go as planned, so it's understandable.
Overall it's a good game and I hope to see more of this lovely Penelope. :v:
But honestly I only found this game because I chose category zero, you should rate other games for your game to be more recommended, but if you don't want this or this is just a test of learning ignore what I just said.

Thanks for the feedback @megabr and yeah, this was a mixture of our first go at making a game plus me and @froztshock were a bit spontaneous in working on this, I ended up getting assets done faster than they could do the code to make them fit right. Hilariously, after this they told me that things are the way they are out of a bit of hurry on their part, and that the code could have been much cleaner otherwise and they can cut down on the clunky code by like... half or more.
Basically, it's a mixture of circumstances, but between this being our first thing and me literally passing out like... a chunk of hours before things were due, things didn't exactly go to plan. I'll probably go rate more games, the issue for me was that after this was done, I needed sleep bad and finding the time and effort of will to look at more games has been tough! Part of me is hesitant to go more of a signal boost, this was mostly an effort to see if we could actually do this. But I dunno~! We'll see.
There's a comment above that explains some of the stuff that got cut, and while the goal still would have been a bit repetitive, we had more of a goal in mind, just didn't get the time to get it in and working nicely.
