FIXED "missing fmod.dll" error.
The Blitz3D executable requires fmod.dll in the same folder to run. This is an artifact of the open source version which doesn't pack it inside the executable. I had to write another program in BlitzMax that IncBin'd the DLL and unpacks it at runtime. I have included that source code in the source_code folder as well. Now the game should work.
I really like this game a lot, nice background story too. I kept getting lost in the woods and dying pretty quick until I figured out the upper right corner had coordinates. The fire is at 0,0. I liked how the difficulty increased. Each time you go for wood you have to deeper and deeper, making it harder to get back.
I liked this a lot! I got 'lost' in the forest pretty early on and had my wellness down to 2% before I made it back to the fire (which was long dead). I managed to come back from the brink and survive the whole night though. It seemed pretty easy (to me) to just go straight into the forest, not make too many turns, and come straight back to the fire. I didn't even notice the coordinate system until I read @dave-follett's post. However, I still really liked the mood of the game. It would be a nice twist if there were monsters deep in the forest :)
Nice Dude, Felt Like I Was Playing Don't Starve All Over Again.
