I think this idea could be expanded on, but it's a good start
@Christopher Robinson: Very much so - We were hoping to have a much more in depth the card mechanic - Things like: Pawns can take forward this turn, X piece can move like Y piece and so on. Also, a mechanic to draw cards from the deck randomly would have been nice as well.
Sadly, we didn't have enough time nor is the code designed in a flexable enough way. Good lessons to learn, mind! :)
