This looks really interesting. I like the sketchbook art style. I can't play it now, but I really look forward to it when I get home. Did you do the artwork by hand, or was it generated? Also, how long did it take to make the menu system? That is one thing I struggled on in my game, and I ended up not having a GUI, and instead just open a very simple launcher first. I think you should really try to make a multiplayer version, it would really be fun playing with your friends, trying to either work together or against each other. Definitely keep working on the game. Also, how many LDs have you done before, as this was my first, and it was very difficult. Keep up the good work.

@CodeCracked Hi! Thanks for all the questions! I did draw all the artwork in the game myself with a software called Krita. When I drew I used a wacom tablet which made it quite easy to get that sketchbook art style. The reason I chose the sketchbook style was because I actually suck at drawing so I had to make something simple and it worked quite well.

As for the menu it was quite simple to make. The game engine I'm using is Godot engine and it's very easy to design a basic gui in Godot. I just took a look at your entry and saw that you are developing your own engine in Java and that is awesome. You will learn a lot but be prepared that things are not always that simple to make yourself. Making your own GUI from scratch is one of those things that are a pain in the ass. But if you keep working you will make it and you also gain a lot of experience.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to keep working on this game because I work on a bunch of other projects right now and I also have school so not much free time. Though Godot just added a network api which would make a multiplayer version a lot easier to make. I might make something in the future with the same art style.

This was my 8th Ludum Dare and let me tell you that it never gets easier but the fun is always there. Have a nice day! :D

Hey there, nice work on this game! I really liked the hand drawn art style, it blended together well with both the "cutscene" and the game. The game itself reminds me a lot of an old game called Elasto Mania, which was an awesome game! Nice work with several levels as well! If this had online highscores it would be even more fun!

Wohh! What a cool game!
The leveldesign make the game sometimes to difficult.
Really like the hand drawn art. The car controls are also very good implemented.
++ for godot engine :)
