That was fun. I see you couldn't resist the old cave-crawl IF trope either!
The pacing (at least for the path I took) suited the dramatic events. Would have liked it to be a bit longer, but obviously that's difficult under the time restraints.
And for some reason loads of these (‘) appear. e.g. "At last, you‘re at the top of the tower. Yet, you’re still underground."
Well written and fun. I, however, also had problems with these things; �, that popped up every now and then.
That seems to be an issue with how Twine lays out conjunctions. I'll remove all of the conjunctions and upload the result again.
I removed all of the conjunctions, as that seems to be causing a lot of odd text showing in the .html pages. I also added some more plot to the story. Nothing major, but I think it adds to the overall story.

Nice style on the Twine anyways.
The prose is mostly solid, with a few "meh" sentences. As I said in the comments it was fun to play and had good pacing, even if at times scenes did move a bit too quickly. And I would have liked it to be a touch longer.
I liked it, I liked how you weren't randomly punished for behaving prudently.
