The ship rotating felt weird since it rotated around the corner and not the center of the ship, and you span way to fast! In the end, what was fun was spinning around really fast and then trying to shoot at the right time to hit particular asteroids. I liked the missiles though, how sometimes they span out or curved.
The spinning being off-center feels less weird once you're in motion, but it could do with slowing down to a stop when you're not actively turning. It's a bit difficult to control your trajectory as it is... or alternately, with a bit of tweaking that could make for an interesting mechanic :D
If you got the ship to turn round the center and added decay to the yaw's inertia this would be a good Asteroids game.
It is fun spinning in circles though!
The ship was extremely hard to control and to be honest I could not understand how the game relates to the theme.
