| Aug 21 18:54:00 | Run Escape | This idea is really cool. I love how when you lose you press *escape* to restart - very clever. But when I try to run it on 64bit Windows 7, it crashes before it even loads a ui :-( | |
| Aug 22 21:15:00 | 26h 21m | Boingo's Escape | Very impressive graphics. The controls are a bit buggy; it seems that whenever you land on something that isn't ground, you stop moving horizontally. However, using music that was not created by you during the competition - even though it's public domain - is a violation of the rules. You might be able to remove it to avoid being disqualified, but modifying your game after the submission deadline gets you disqualified too, so I would consult someone who knows the rules better than I to find out what to do. |
| Aug 23 00:53:00 | 3h 38m | Stratus | This is wonderful! I love the environment/mood of the game. I was a bit surprised by the abrupt ending, but that is to be expected for a game in a competition like this. I see potential for a very deep storyline here too. If you were to further develop this, I think it could be a hit! |
| Aug 23 01:23:00 | 30m 00s | Death Boulder Jones | Yeah, it definitely needs checkpoints or lives or something to make it a bit easier. I also found the walls obstructing my view at times, which was annoying. But the concept is great! |
| Aug 23 05:17:00 | 3h 54m | Help! I'm trapped in a compact 2D Riemannian manifold! | Haha, I can tell what theme you voted for! ;-) I really liked the originality of this game. It was fun to play mostly because it was just so different from most other games on the 'net. I think some subtle background music could help set a good mood for this. |
| Aug 23 06:45:00 | 1h 28m | Escape from Planet 21 | Being written by a guy who calls himself "whiletruefork", how could this NOT be awesome? Surprisingly though, it did not cause excessive lag or crash my computer - very misleading and disappointing ;-) |
| Aug 23 17:18:00 | 10h 33m | The Power of Escape | I figured it out right away :D <br/>That's some pretty good music too! |
| Aug 23 19:33:00 | 2h 15m | Upset | I noticed one option at one point that I couldn't click (I don't remember what it was/where it was). But I still managed to complete it. That was a wonderful game, and proves that a game doesn't need good graphics, sound, or effects to be fun and engaging. |
| Aug 24 03:00:00 | 7h 27m | Scriptblock's Escape LD48 | I feel that I didn't really have any control over the outcome. It was pure trial-and-error with no skill involved. If you were to add something that required skill (avoiding cameras, shooting baddies, etc), I think this would be more fun to play. |
| Aug 24 18:04:00 | 15h 04m | ESCAPE | Usually I end up getting stuck on these kinds of games for 10 minutes and then quitting out of boredom. But that wasn't the case with this one. I find storylines help tremendously to make these kinds of games more interesting, but there was none in your game. Also, if you beat it and play it again, your inventory is not cleared. But overall, good graphics and it fit the theme. |
| Aug 24 18:15:00 | 11m 00s | Forever Running | A bit too repetitive, and the collision detection seemed off a little (I couldn't jump up and over a wall if I was already pressed against the side of it, not to mention everything seemed to just use strict bounding-box based collisions). But for 48 hours, it's decent. |
