Nice start it would be cool to look around in edit mode, and play mode needs a main menu button.

I like the concept of forcing the player to create the level they play in before actually playing. I think you should have some requirements set in place before allowing the game to play, though. For instance, make sure the player creates a bed for the game to start.
Overall, though, I like where this is going. It could be one game that teaches some basics on level design while the play.
