For a first game this really isn't bad. I figured out you use the items with ENTER and then you need to discard them with Q, otherwise you can't pick up new items. I like that idea.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD54 → Black&White!

A nice and simple jump and run is a good start for your first Ludum Dare! I didn't quite grasp what the items actually did and whether the different levels were actually designed or whether it was randomly generated, but I had my fun trying to avoid the black square and the spikes!
I know that i forgot to write controls and other stuff, so i'll add main menu them soon.
It would've been nice if the character art and the level art were more consitent, the level could've taken a minimal style just like the squares to make it look more cohesive. Otherwise, it was a simple fun, albeit rage-inducing, speedrunning game - the level segmentation made for nice pacing.
The character feels a little floaty, it could be nice to increase gravity to make it feel a bit tighter. I wasn't a big fan of needing to drop an item before picking up a new one, it felt like more of a hassle than anything else, but I get the idea. The dash was cool and I had fun with the game for a few minutes, good job!
Fun game with some good ideas! Great first game!
