I wouldn't worry about your ideas not turning out as you'd hoped, Game Jam's are a time for unbridled experimentation! It's impressive you managed to produce a coherent and enjoyable game given the setbacks.
The gameplay is solid and the UI is very clear. At least, you have finished the game! I hope next time I could see you bring your idea into a great game!
You did really well to create a game in 1 day! Is just missing the difficulty curve, but otherwise all your systems are there!
